Haemin Sunim - The things you can see only when you slow down

Writer's picture: SusanSusan

This is one of many books everybody should make the time to read. It’s been written by a Zen monk and you can open it and read at random. You can grab it before work or after lunch. Even if you have just five minutes it’s enough. I prefer it before I set off to work because it lowers the amount of stress and pressure I sometimes feel. There are eight main chapters that focus on the most important parts of your life. It’s full of wise sayings and very insightful. Every time I put down this book I can feel the warm imprint it leaves on me. It helped me open my eyes and to see the bigger picture.

Sometimes we want certain things so badly that we can’t see the things that make us exceptional. Sometimes we spend a lot of energy on things that don’t serve us well. The tips in the book sound easy but you still need to do the work. But it’s a definitely a good start and worth every penny.
